I haven't had much luck with Rick's stuff.  I put a rebuilt stator and reg/rectifier in last year - lasted about two months.  I sent it back to Rick's and they covered it under warranty, said the regulator/rectifier was defective and burned up stator. 

The new one lasted a year till this summer when one leg of the stator shorted out.  The reg/rect is starting to act strange.  When I first start up the bike , it overcharges for a couple of minutes, then shuts down and under charges till I either re-start the bike or allow the bike to idle - then it takes right off and charges fine for the rest of the day - regardless how many times I start or stop. 

Needless to say I'm about to order an Electrex USA unit.  I put a stock stator in the bike this last time - we'll see how long it lasts.  I know one thing - I'll never ride without an amp/voltmeter again.  I've had mine for a year now and I can catch these things early and avoid a lot of trouble.
